HCS Previous Year Question Papers

HPSC, which stands for Haryana Public Service Commission, is the main exam-conducting body for the administrative posts in Haryana. This article provides HCS previous year question papers (prelims and main examination papers).

• Minimum – 18 years
• Maximum – 27 years (for the DSP post)
• Maximum – 42 years (for other posts)

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in any stream from any recognized university in India.

Scheme of Examination

The selection of candidates is done by these three phases:

• Preliminary Examination
• Main Written Examination
• Personality Test / Viva-Voce

Preliminary Examination

It comprises two papers for a total of 200 marks:

• Paper 1 – General Studies – 100 marks
• Paper 2 – Civil Services Aptitude Test – 100 marks.

Note:

• Both question papers are of objective type (multiple choices) and each question paper shall be of two hours duration.
• There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
• Paper 2 is qualifying hence candidates should secure a minimum of 33% marks.
• The candidates 12 times the number of advertised posts will be admitted to the main examination.

Main Written Examination

It comprises four papers for a total of 400 marks:

Note: The candidates three (3) times the number of advertised posts will be called for Personality Test.
