UPSC NDA Previous Year Papers

The UPSC NDA stands for NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY & NAVAL ACADEMY EXAMINATION. This article provides UPSC NDA previous year papers. This exam is a gateway for young individuals to join the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force as officers. And UPSC NDA exam is held twice a year (April and September).

1. Eligibility for UPSC NDA

a.) Nationality

Note: A candidate must be an unmarried male/female

a citizen of India, or
a citizen of Nepal, or
check the official notification for more details.

b.) Age Limits

Candidates must be between 16.5 to 19.5 years of age.

c.) Educational Qualifications

For Army wing – 12th pass
For Air Force and Naval Wings – 12 pass with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics

2. Fee

Candidates, except SC/ST candidates/ female candidates/ wards of JCO/NCO/OR, are required to pay a fee of Rs 100 /- (Rupees one hundred only)

3. Travelling Allowance

Candidates appearing for an SSB interview for the first time for a particular type of Commission i.e. Permanent or Short Service, shall be entitled to AC III Tier to and for railway fare or bus fare including reservation cum sleeper charges within the Indian limits. Candidates who apply again for the same type of Commission will not be entitled to a travelling allowance on any subsequent occasion.

4. Scheme of Examination

All the papers will consist of objective-type questions only.

Note: THE QUESTION PAPERS (TEST BOOKLETS) OF MATHEMATICS AND PART “B” OF GENERAL ABILITY TEST WILL BE SET BILINGUALLY IN HINDI AS WELL AS ENGLISH.

5. Intelligence and Personality Test

The SSB procedure consists of two stages Selection process stage I and stage II. Only those candidates who clear stage I are permitted to appear for stage II. The details are:

(a) Stage I comprises Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) tests are Picture Perception * Description Test (PP&DT). The candidates will be shortlisted based on the combination of performance in the OIR Test and PP&DT.
(b) Stage II Comprises Interviews, Group Testing Officer Tasks, Psychology Tests and the Conference. These tests are conducted over 4 days. The details of these tests are given on the website joinindianarmy.nic.in.
